Darryl on Lead Guitar

(Mouse Over Picture to Enlarge) Master of the heavy crunch guitar sound, Darryl cut his rock 'n' roll teeth in Winnipeg bands during the 70s through 80s, gigging throughout western Canada. His thick chunky chording forms the basis of our heavier tunes, and his sizzling leads make our rockin' blues scream.

Gary on Keyboards and Guitar

(Mouse Over Picture to Enlarge) Gary comes to Highway 59 a seasoned veteran of not only the Winnipeg, but the international music scene. A multi-talented musician, he takes a song and brings it to life from the first note to the last.

Dave on Drums

(Mouse Over Picture to Enlarge) Hit it and hit it hard! Dave provides our back beat with sonic style and thunder. He began his musical journey with heavy rock and metal and later expanded his view with country so H59's hard driving classic rock is a perfect fit for Dave's bashing and crashing with ferocious flair.

David on Bass

(Mouse Over Picture to Enlarge) David has been playing his bass since he found out that the chicks dig it! Known for his stage presence as much as his talents, David brings his experience and love of music through onto the stage for all to enjoy!

Yvonne on Lead Vocals

(Mouse Over Picture to Enlarge) Yvonne is our powerhouse frontperson, a firecrackin' live wire whose stamina astonishes and whose vocal range thrills. Her enthusiasm for music making is downright infectious, onstage and off. She loves all genres of music and is a true fan of the classic rock scene. Yvonne's focus, dedication and professionalism are the nutrient mix that inspires the band -- and the audience -- to rock on and on.

Forever a 59er: Mike Hesford

(Mouse Over Picture to Enlarge) Mike, our bass player from July 2010 to November 2011, passed away on November 28, 2011. Miss ya, buddy!

August 29, 1969 - November 28, 2011 With an appreciation for the rich life he lived, we mourn the sudden passing of Mike on November 28, 2011. Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Mike spent his early years in Edmonton, Peace River, and Terrace, BC before his family settled in Winnipeg. However, Mike found his true home when he moved to his beloved town of Morris, Manitoba. As someone who truly embraced his community, Mike was visible through his volunteer work, his mentorship of young people, and his commentary work as the public address announcer for the Pembina Valley Twisters and Morris Mavericks High School hockey teams. Mike was also well known for the bands he played in (Highway 59, Lost Highway, Tequila South), with his great love of music reflected throughout his life. For the many people who were fortunate to share his life, Mike was truly a blessing. One could not ask for a truer friend, partner, or father. An honest, positive person, Mike saw the best in those around him, and embraced everyone with a wonderful balance of humour, loyalty and respect. Mike worked for Manitoba Lotteries - Video Lotto office in Morris for 20 years and enjoyed everyday. As a hard worker and a jack-of-all-trades, Mike was always there to support friends in whatever they needed. Mike is survived by his sons Brett and Tyler, stepsons Riley and Devin, and his sweetheart, Perri Michelle Jorek. He is also survived by his parents, Judy and Ron Hesford, his brother-in-law, Larry Kouk, and his niece, Courtney Kouk. He was predeceased by his sister Carolyn Kouk (2007).Donations can be made at Access Credit Union to the Mike Hesford Scholarship Trust.
